Neighborhood Clean-Up
The Village and Lighthouse Learning Centers took part in a Neighborhood clean up Monday, March 26. The students from the Village picked up trash and debris along San Pascual, Carrillo, and Anapamu streets.
Teens Attend Jack Johnson Benefit Concert at Santa Barbara Bowl
On Sunday, March 18 five teens attended the Jack Johnson & Friends benefit concert at the Santa Barbara County Bowl. The concert was equal parts entertainment, healing, and philanthropy.
Gator's Guitar
When Village resident Gaston "Gator" Doke's guitar was in need of repair, he stopped by the Community Center to ask if there was anything we could do to help. We quickly made a call to Kai Tepper of the Santa Barbara Bowl.
Music Academy of the West
On July 28, we were able to bring our kids to the Music Academy of the West for the first time where they attended the annual Merit concert at Hahn Hall.
Building Speakers with SONOS

During the second week of our summer program, both the Lighthouse and Village crews had the opportunity to participate in a week long music workshop at the west side Notes For Notes facility in Santa Barbara.
Grant from Junior League of Santa Barbara
We are proud to announce that on Monday, June 12 we were invited to the Junior League of Santa Barbara where we were presented a check for $3000.
Engame Dance Performance
April 1st, the students of The Village and The Lighthouse were invited to a special showing of Selah Dance Collective's piece named Endgame. Selah Dance Collective is a contemporary dance company, which was started in 2013 by UCSB graduate Meredith Cabaniss.
A Magical Evening Celebrating All Things Harry Potter!
Muggles and wizards alike were invited to a magical evening celebrating all things Harry Potter! The Village kids had a blast navigating the Central library looking for clues while taking part in a scavenger hunt and learning the different areas of the library

Kids Helping Kids Host Halloween Party At The Village
The partnership between The Village and Kids Helping Kids (KHK) continues to grow. Friday, October 28 found 50+ volunteers hosting a Halloween party for the kids and families at The Village.
Norah Jones At Santa Barbara Bowl
Over the last several years, we've established a strong partnership with the Santa Barbara Bowl. As part of our music program at the Village, we've had the opportunity to visit the venue, attend concerts, and tour the grounds.

Last week we had a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at the lovely venue of our friends, Pilgrim Terrace Housing. We have many programs we are able to offer our tenants and students, ranging from art classes, dance classes, gardening, environmental education, ocean exploration, and many more!
Channel Islands Trip
The students of The Village Summer Camp have been working on Ocean Projects all summer about ocean effectors and how to better take care of our ocean. In partnership with Save the Mermaids, we have focused many of our lessons and field trips around environmental education and what we can do to make a difference.
Kayaking and Channel Keeper
This summer, The Village Summer Camp has had the privilege of being partnered with Save the Mermaids, a foundation with its roots in environmental education. Executive director, Kaia Stachel- Zambryski has been introducing our students to ocean advocacy and ecological awareness through experiential learning.
California Pizza Kitchen Tour
On Friday, July 15 the younger group at The Village Summer Camp had the privilege of touring the restaurant California Pizza Kitchen located in the Paseo Nuevo Mall of downtown Santa Barbara. The students took a tour of the whole facility, seeing where food is stored, prepared, and cooked.
