Village Teen talks about experience on Teen Board

The Fund for Santa Barbara is a non-profit community foundation that supports grassroots organizations working for social, economic, environmental, and political change in Santa Barbara County.

How was your experience on the Fund’s Teen Board?

My experience on the Board was pretty fun and a great time because I got an opportunity to impact my community in a positive way. I also met a lot of cool new people.

What were some things you learned or took away from the experience?

I learned how to work with people I didn’t know very well to reach a common goal. I also learned more about managing my time between, school, sports, and my commitments to the Board.

Now that you’re done with your term, is there anything you would do differently?

No, not really. I maybe would have liked to share out a little more.

Would you recommend applying to be on the Fund’s Teen Board? Why?

Yes, I believe it’s a great time and a good learning experience. It also feels good to help your community.
