Village Summer Camp Partners with Save The Mermaids!

The Village Summer Camp is proud to begin our partnership with our friends Save the Mermaids, an environmental awareness group who is helping us get our kids into the ocean and become aware of how to better take care of it. We had our first introduction to ocean exploration at the tide pools today where the children were able to get a first hand glimpse of marine life.

The Village at I Madonnari Festival

On May 29, eight children from The Village got the privilege to participate in one of Santa Barbara's finest events, I Madonnari. These kids attended numerous meetings to decide on a theme for their drawing, research pictures, and pick out themselves what they would draw.

The Village at Pentatonic Show - SB Bowl

Through their ticket subsidy program, we were lucky enough to attend yet another great concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl. The breakout acapella group Pentatonix performed originals from their self-titled album as well as creative arrangements of songs by The Jackson 5 and Imagine Dragons.

The Media Lab Has Expanded!

The Media Lab has expanded! The Turner Foundation received a generous grant from the Williams-Corbett Foundation. A portion of the funding allowed the Learning Center buy 4 new chrome books and have a technician come in to update all the devices!

Free Surf Day for The Village Families

The Surf Happens Foundation funded a free surf day for the families of The Village, an affordable housing unit in Santa Barbara. The sun was shinning and perfect little waves rolled through all day. Thank you to everyone involved, this was truly a special day at the beach!
