Fall Music Performance and Award Ceremony

The Village Community hosted the annual fall Jazz Band Performance and Recognition Awards Ceremony where the students of both The Village and The Lighthouse showcased their talents and immense achievements. The Director of Music Programs, David Rojas, exposed these young minds to musical performance and the artistic expression that comes through music, which they otherwise would not have access to. While many other students watched TV and played video games, these students have been diligently practicing and rehearsing numerous jazz songs during quarantine. The six months of hard work payed off on October 2nd, when these talented musicians performed songs such as “Autumn Leaves,” “Round, Fine and Brown,” and “Inner City Blues.” Those in attendance were blown away by the rapid progress and showmanship of these young performers!
