2019 Holiday Potluck and Student Awards

The holidays are here! As fall semester comes to a close, our students, families, and staff came together to celebrate the end of 2019 with a potluck-style dinner, gingerbread house making, games, and more! It was great spending time together and reflecting on the year – all while sharing a delicious meal. Our lovely, supportive parents brought pastas, tamales, pozole, home baked desserts and more.

Staff also announced the recipients of our Character Excellence Awards to students who exemplified our Four Core Pillars of Compassion, Integrity, Attitude, and Initiative.

  • Kevin Rodriguez was awarded the Compassion Award for always making sure younger students feel included during group activities.

  • Lilian Luis was awarded the Integrity Award for her unwavering honesty and dedication to academic excellence.

  • Kamila Moreno was awarded the Attitude Award for her growing dedication to improving herself academically and her willingness to work hard to get there.

  • Paul Sandoval was awarded the Initiative Award for his exceptional attitude and willingness to go above and beyond what is asked of him.

Donnie, our director of programs, and Diane, our director of education, also announced our Rising Star Awards to students who showed incredible growth and improvement throughout the school year.

  • Elijah Santos was awarded the Rising Star Award at the Village for unparalleled improvement in attitude, integrity, and academic excellence.

  • Jared Perez was awarded the Rising Star Award at the Lighthouse for his vast improvement in reading and math.

We had such a great time celebrating the hard work of our students & staff and appreciate the unwavering support from our students’ parents and families. We look forward to the new year ahead!
