VILLAGE MISSION STATEMENT: The Turner Foundation seeks to care for people by providing a safe, warm, and affordable home environment. By providing services on-site in a “village” setting, we can serve our residents in unique ways, develop a sense of community, and reduce the problems and tensions often associated with an affordable housing facility.
The Turner Foundation owns and operates "The Village at Santa Barbara" a 70-unit affordable housing complex on the west side of Santa Barbara. The Village offers a mix of units; studios, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments.
After the completion of the physical rehabilitation of the building in 2006, the Turner Foundation unveiled the Community Center at The Village. The Community Center includes, a learning center for kids with
2 computers, an outdoor play area, a Tutoring Room, Children's Corner with toys, and a functioning Library with over
1200 books. In addition, The Turner Foundation partners with the Santa Barbara Police Department. Inside the Community Center, the Santa Barbara Police Department has a field office/sub-station--allowing officers a place to work on the West Side of Santa Barbara.
The Village offers two laundry facilities, a pool and barbeque area, a children's playground, garden and community center on the property. If you or someone you know is interested in getting more information or possibly living at The Village, please email The Turner Foundation at info@TheTurnerFoundation. com.
