Cary YoungDirector of Programs

    Cary Young was born in Wailuku, Maui-HI. He graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in Recreation Administration and minor in Human Resources Management. Cary has worked for many non-profits which include the Boys & Girls Club, Girls Inc., Camp Fire and the YMCA. Cary also worked for the City of Santa Barbara in the Youth Programs division. He was a Professional Director at the Montecito Family YMCA for 16 years. In 2014, Cary went back to school and earned a Masters in Education and teaching credential from Antioch University-Santa Barbara. Cary has served on the Partners for Fit Youth steering committee, volunteers for Partners in Education with mock interviews, sits on the Community Council for the United Boys and Girls Club of Santa Barbara County (Westside unit), volunteers at the Free Methodist Church of Santa Barbara work days, and is part of the 3rd Grade Reading Initiative along with the United Way of Santa Barbara, Housing Authority of Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara Central Library, and Peoples Self Help. Cary’s personal mission is to serve others in any way he can. His greatest satisfaction is observing the growth in people’s spirit, mind, and body.
